MindBuy helps you buy more mindfully. Instead of impulse buys, every wish goes into a self-chosen cooldown — a few days, a week, a month. Only then do you decide, calmly.
The result: less regret, more money in your account, a clearer view of your real wants.
How does the cooldown mechanic work?
Every item runs through a simple lifecycle:

Add
You add a wish (name, price, link, note).

Blocked
The item is locked for the cooldown. You can still review it during this time, but not buy it.
- 3
Released
After the cooldown the item is ready for a decision.
- 4
Decided
You pick one of four options.

- • Discard — the impulse has faded, you don't need it.
- • Park again — still unsure → back into cooldown.
- • Schedule by date (Premium) — plan the purchase for a specific date.

Where is my data stored?
All your wishes, notes, budgets and settings stay locally on your device. We don't run a server that collects this data. You don't need an account or e-mail registration — the app works right after install.
The only exception: when you share a product link (e.g. from Amazon), MindBuy fetches that page once to read title and price. No user tracking happens during that.
Is my data used for advertising?
No, your wish list and your purchase decisions stay with you. MindBuy doesn't look at what you buy and shares it with no one.
There are ads in the free version — but they're standard ads from Google AdMob, working independently from your MindBuy data.
How do the ads work?
In the free version you'll see:
- A small banner on the dashboard, calendar and statistics screens
- A short ad on app start (max once per day, or every 4 hours)
Premium removes all ads.
Privacy with ads: on first launch you decide whether you want personalised or generic ads. You can change this in settings any time. Without your consent, no personalised ads are shown.
What does Premium cost?
Can I use Premium on multiple devices?
Yes. Premium is bound to your Google account. Settings include a "Restore Premium" option to reactivate your status on a new device.
Can I move my data to a new phone?
Yes, with the Backup feature (Premium):
- Old device: Settings → "Export backup" → file is exported as a
.dbfile (e.g. e-mail to yourself or save to cloud storage) - New device: install MindBuy → Settings → "Import backup" → pick the file
All your wishes, budgets, notes and settings are then carried over.

Which devices does MindBuy run on?
Currently Android only (Android 7.0 or newer). An iOS version is in preparation but not yet available.
How do I get updates?
The Play Store will notify you automatically when an update is available. For critical security or bug-fix updates the app shows an extra in-app prompt — you can update directly without opening the Play Store.
What happens to items without a cooldown?
If you add an item without setting a specific cooldown, it still appears in the calendar under "Waiting" — in the month it was created. So it doesn't get forgotten.
Can I turn off notifications completely?
Yes. Settings → "Notifications" lets you toggle them. With them off, the app stays silent — no push notifications when a cooldown ends.
How does sharing from other apps work?
From Amazon, Otto, Zalando or your browser, hit the "Share" button and pick MindBuy. MindBuy opens directly on the create-screen — link, title and price are pre-filled. You just pick a cooldown and tap save.
What about ads if I have Premium?
Ad-free. Banners and full-screen ads disappear completely.
Can other people see my wishes?
No. Your wish list is 100 % private. No accounts, no cloud, no sharing. Only you on your device.
How can I send feedback or report a bug?
Just email us at support@mindbuy.app — we read every message and reply as soon as we can.
Is MindBuy GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Since we don't store personal data on servers and have no account system, many GDPR topics don't apply to us. Ad tracking only runs with your explicit consent. Details in our Privacy Policy.
Who is behind MindBuy?
Current development status
MindBuy is currently in closed alpha. The core features are all in place and working, but small polish steps and new features keep rolling in.
